Sad

Wow, first TIGblog :O
The situation in both East Timor and Indonesia at the moment is so sad. To see the pictures of injured people lying on the ground, families sheltering under only a taupaulin from the rain, riots breaking out, buildings and vechiles being set alight, is horrendous to me, and i can't begin to imagine what it must be like. Don't get me wrong, there are still to many countries that live like this every day, yet the reports in the media seem to have died out about these countries. I still think of them, and wounder what is happening, and what I can do to help

Awhile ago, all of this would have made me a lil sad and then i would have forgotten about it by the end of the day. Now as its happening im thinking more about it and woundering what i can do to help (not that i have come up with a lot yet but still), which i think is an improvement. Its thanks to sites like this and others that have inspired this change of thought pattern.

These sites have made realise that there is a lot we can do to change the world, even though im still young. Its a pitty not everyone realises this... the world would be a better place if we could all learn to give more and take less.

Please excuse any spelling mistakes, im not a wiz at spelling :D

i think it is worse how the situations are caused by different things, one a natural disaster-earthquake, the other is angry citizens/mobs. one of them is completely avoidable.

its good to have more input from NZ :)

Hello! Congratulations for posting your first entry on your TIG blog!

I always wish that I can do something to help victims of calamaties but being involve in online communities like TakingItGlobal is also a good way to express our will to change and contribute for the better.

See you around. Enjoy your stay here at TIG!

i think one thing that's almost just as sad is that I've bearly heard any information about it. The media has mostly been concentrated on the nhl or our city marathon. Like it's great that a bunch of people ran a marathon but peole are dying. What's more critical- death or a freaking marathon problem?

I made my first blog last week :D
